It’s time for a Fav and Flop product review!
Today, I have a product I am truly loving and a product I can definitely live without! Lets get to it!
FLOP: PHILOSOPHY Clear Days Ahead™ Oil-Free Salicylic Acid Acne Treatment Cleanser
I have tried other items from this brand that I have really enjoyed, however this product was a definite flop for me. My sister originally had this product in an acne treatment kit. Her skin is very sensitive and dry and this product caused her to breakout in little tiny red bumps, almost like a rash. She gave me this product to try since our skin types are very different. I must mention that I have never tried any other products from this specific Clear line from Philosophy. Also, my skin type is combination to oily with slight hormonal breakouts. I decided to give this product a try because, at the time, my skin was having unusual breakouts. I definitely regretted using this product because it only worsened the problem areas and created little red bumps and dryness. The bumps were very irritating and painful. I noticed these bumps after about two uses, but thought I would continue to use it in hopes that it wasn’t the product causing it. However, after a few more uses it was very clear as to what was causing it and worsening it. Needless to say, I would never purchase or use this product again.
FAV: ROOT AWAKENING®PURIFY + NOURISH CONDITIONER For Oily Scalp & Dry Hair
I promise I wouldn’t do a Fav or Flop post unless I had very strong feelings about the products. Just like the last product, I have even more feelings about this product because I truly love it. My hair care routine can sometimes be swept to the side, because it can definitely be expensive. To help my hair go longer between color and cuts, I am always looking for amazing products. My mom is actually the one who bought this product for me after trying it out herself. This product in particular is perfect for my hair type. I tend to have an oily scalp and cannot go more than a day between washes. However, the ends of my hair can easily dry between cuts and colors. This conditioner is perfect in this case because, unlike many conditioners, you can actually massage this into your scalp. Usually, when I use conditioners I only apply it to the ends of my hair because it can cause my scalp to be oily and weighed down. This product has a mint-like, fresh scent and leaves your scalp and hair feeling and smelling so refreshed! It doesn’t weigh my hair down and leaves it silky and shiny! I really can see and feel a difference when styling my hair after using this product!
