Finally, I have a moment to sit down and reflect on 2014.
As many of you may know, I am home for winter break. Though I am home for break, it hasn’t really been a “break”. I have been taking a couple online classes along with working a part-time job. Also, I have been enjoying the holidays and spending time with my boyfriend, family and friends whom I have such limited time with.
Through all of the fun I have been having over break, I have truly missed my blog and YouTube channel. I am so happy to be back on and writing this post. My Christmas was amazing, and I am so thankful for all of the people I was able to spend it with and the sweet gifts I received. I hope each of you had a blessed Christmas and happy New Year as well!
As 2015 has begun, I wanted to reflect on the best moments of 2014 and all the memories I will cherish forever.
I started off my 2014 year with the mentality of forcing myself to pursue my dreams, and not care what anyone would think. Like I have said before, I initially started my blog in 2012 when I went off to college to start my freshman year. I would write a post then immediately delete it. So, it wasn’t until January of 2014 that I actually went public with my channel and blog. Needless to say, I am so happy that I did.
I made my first post on January 31, 2014, making it the official launch and announcement of my site and channel.
On February 2, 2014 I posted my very first video to my YouTube Channel Rachel’s Rendition.
Since then I have been enjoying every minute of this creative outlet that embodies who I am and the things I love. I am so thankful for every one of YOU who have supported me and encouraged me throughout this year.
Summer of 2014 was also filled with many memories and fun adventures. A week in Topsail, NC, a couple visits to Charleston, SC and my first time visiting Savannah, GA were some of the many highlights. The BEST news of all was finding out that my brother and sister-in-law were expecting their very first child! Ahhh, I am so excited to become an Auntie!
I headed back to school and was so excited to have classes only in my major. It ended up being a successful semester that totally flew by. My favorite memory was attending my first NFL, Atlanta Falcons football game for Tyler’s birthday. It was such a fun experience and we can’t wait to go to another one!
I like to say that your 20’s are for discovering who you are, what you want to do, where you want to be and everything else in between. It is so easy for me to get frustrated and feel confused, because I want to do what is right and make all the best decisions for my life. However, 2014 helped me to realize that I cannot control everything in my life or predict my future. I have realized that it is so important to enjoy the present and embrace every moment instead of trying to plan it all out. I’m kind of a control freak, so…I’m working on it every day;)
Hopes for 2015
I have a feeling that 2015 is going to be a big year for me! I have no idea what is in store, but I know that I am going to make the best of it all. I am so excited to graduate this summer and see what the next chapter of my life holds. I can’t wait to become an Aunt in a couple of weeks and to be able to see this little miracle grow up. I am also looking forward to some of my closest friends’ weddings, as they take their next step in life. I couldn’t be happier for them!
I hope in 2015 that I continue to grow and discover myself. I hope to work harder and continue to improve and develop my blog and channel. I also hope and pray for good health and happiness for my entire family and friends! I hope that 2014 was a great year for you and I hope that 2015 is even better!
I have many videos planned to film very soon, so be on the lookout for some fun new things here at Rachel’s Rendition. Thank you for being here for me and all your support through 2014!
Here’s to 2015!
